Shepherd Sisters Art Auction

Over 100 pieces of art created by Oklahoma's Shepherd Sisters will be sold at a silent auction on Nov. 1, with advanced viewing available Oct. 27-Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Regarded as a very talented Impressionist painter and one of Oklahoma's first recognized artists, Nellie Shepherd studied in Paris for four years. The portrait of her sister Lottie, one of two of the 800 paintings by American artists selected to hang in Le Grand Salon in Paris in 1910, was awarded an Honorable Mention. That same year she and her friends Mrs. John Shartel and Mrs. Ed Dunn helped organize the Oklahoma Art League.

The Shepherd family owned the property near NW 23 and Villa, which is now known as Shepherd Mall.
