Music & Arts

Quality music is a priority at FPC. We treasure music in our Worship Services and strive to uplift the soul of all who join us.

Join us as we worship God with beautiful music!

  • We have superb music programs for singers of all ages on Wednesday evenings. Composed of singers from varied backgrounds, the Sanctuary Singers (adult choir) is led by the Director of Music and Arts, Boyd Fees, each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. (Please arrive 15 minutes early if you would like to learn more about the choir and rehearse with us.) Youth and Treble Choirs meet Wednesdays (as part of the Kirk Night programming) at 6:00 p.m.; the Cherub Choir (ages 2-5) meets at 6:15 p.m.
  • Sunday Worship Services often feature a brass group, bell ringers, bagpipes, drums, soloists, children’s and adult choirs.
  • First Presbyterian Church OKC is one of the few, if not the only, churches in the U.S. that has 4 pipe organs in the same facility. Our annual concert, the 4x4, features four different organists on the four pipe organs.
  • The Kemp Concert Series was started at First Presbyterian Church. This concert series brings talented musicians to perform free of charge in OKC. Recent musicians in the Kemp Series include The American Boychoir, the New Lyric Quartet, Russian Valery Kuleshov, Cellos Ole, Tatiana Kuleshova, Diana Seitz, John L. Edwards, Linda Millier Bosteels, K. Dean Walker, and David Hatt of San Francisco. Learn more about the Kemp Concert Series here or call 405.525.6584.

Kemp Concert Series

Named in honor of former Music Directors John and Helen Kemp, this concert series celebrates talented musicians in central Oklahoma and beyond. The concerts feature instrumentalists and vocalists as soloists, ensembles and large groups, with widely varying programs. Programs are open to the public and usually free of charge. There are usually 3-4 concerts per season. Call the church office for upcoming event information. See the current concert schedule by clicking on Kemp Concert Series from the home page (bottom left corner, listed under Special News and Events)

Pipe Organs

First Presbyterian Church is blessed to have four(!) pipe organs: a four rank/two manual console in Watchorn Hall (fellowship hall); an eleven rank/two manual, mechanical action Walcher in the main choir room; an Austin of fifteen ranks in the Chapel; and the 75 rank Moeller in the Sanctuary. Other keyboards include Baldwin and Steinway grand pianos, a Yamaha Digital Synthesizer and a Kingston harpsichord. FPC is one of the only churches in the nation to have a 4 x 4 Organ Concert, where the audience begins in one location for a short recital, then moves on to the other 3 venues for recitals played on each instrument.

Instrumentalists

Believing that God is also worshipped through instrumental music, players are often added to the services to enrich the worshipers' experiences.

Solos & Ensembles

Soloists are sought and ensembles formed as various needs arise, providing opportunities for individual's expression and worship offerings.
