DISCIPLE Bible Study

"If you make my word your home, you will indeed be my disciples.”
~John 8:31~

Are you hungry for God’s Word? DISCIPLE Bible Study can help transform your spiritual life into a life that is rooted in God’s Word, prayer, and discipleship.

About the DISCIPLE Series:

The DISCIPLE Bible Study program is designed to develop strong Christian leaders through in-depth study of Scripture. It is a great way to strengthen one's faith, guided into service and ministry, becoming stronger disciples.

DISCIPLE I is an overview of the Old and New Testaments, covering Genesis through Revelation prompting you along the way to consider the human condition and become a disciples. ~ 34 weeks. It is offered at FPCOKC every other year, and is a part of our Core Foundation Series, an expectation of all leaders at FPCOKC.

The current class, 2015/2016, is co-taught by Elders Justin Papineau and David Ligon.  The class meets Sunday afternoons, from 2pm to 4pm (approx) in Rm 212 (DISCIPLE I)

INTO THE WORD INTO THE WORLD encourages persons to open themselves to hearing what God has to say to them through the Bible and to be guided into service in the world by Scripture and their study of it.

This thirty-two-week in depth study of Scripture gives equal attention to both the Old and New Testaments with concentration on four books: Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts (eight lessons on each book). Appropriate connections are made to other parts of Scripture both through reading and study assignments and through commentary in the study manual. Participants will read familiar passages, see them in fresh ways, and anticipate that God will speak through them.

INTO THE WORD INTO THE WORLD is prepared for those who have completed DISCIPLE I already. This study proclaims the transforming power of Scripture while teaching Bible study skills that take participants deeper into the Scripture and the practice of spiritual disciplines and witness. The purpose is to change habits and transform lives. The study also emphasizes the rhythm of coming to God and going for God, of being in the Word and in the world individually and corporately, discipline in community and in ministry to the world.

Elders Rachel Morse and Beverly Brown co-teaching.  This class also meets Sunday afternoons, from 2pm to 4pm (approx) in Rm 215 (DISCIPLE II).
